The 15 Spanish cities that are World Heritage Sites

You may not know it but if these days you have stayed in Spain maybe you have gone to spend Holy Week, or this May Bridge, to one of the Spanish cities World Heritage.

In Spain, third country in the world with the highest number of cataloged places As a World Heritage Site (with a total of 47 culture, nature or mixed), and belonging to UNESCO since 1982, there are 15 cities with that recognition.

It is an agency of the UN, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), which is responsible for granting it in the periodic meetings held by its Steering Committee, since in 1972 the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

In Spain, a non-profit association called “Group of World Heritage Cities in Spain” was created in 1993, which includes the 15 Spanish cities well recognized by UNESCO.
