The Minister of Development, José Blanco, has announced that during the next two years air rates will be reduced by 15% to all the flights that land in the Spanish territory. Even so, it seems that the country still has the highest rates in Europe; neither more nor less than 48% higher than the average of Eurocontrol member countries and 20% above countries such as Germany, France or the United Kingdom.
As announced from the press conference, this measure will result in a reduction in flight prices to passengers. Of course, these types of fees only come to be 5% of the total average of the ticket price although for low-cost airlines such as Ryanair this can really mean a significant discount.
We will see if it really applies and we notice it when buying our tickets here for two years. Who knows if the reduction in the end is lost along the way between the airline and the end user ...
