A Mediterranean country such as Spain has to thank its geographical location for the climate, diet and two delicious liquids for the palate. To get to know one of them better, the wine will be for another occasion, today I'm going on a trip to Jaén, the world's first olive oil producer, to do oleotourism.
For three days I will tour the province knowing first hand the whole complex world that surrounds this gastronomic delight: museums, oil mills, specialized restaurants, rural accommodations, farmhouses, parties, tastings, oil tastings, etc.
From the cultivation of olive groves, to olive picking. From the extraction of the oil and its packaging in the mill until the tasting of dishes made with it, the world of oil in Linares, Úbeda, Baeza and Jaén.
On this trip, organized by the Diputación de Jaén, Natalia Zapatero, Victoria Rodríguez, Raúl Ordóñez, Fernando Ortega, Laura Torralba, Montse Balaguero Ollar and Constanza Lucadamo accompany me.
I'll tell you the live experience from the Viajablog accounts on Twitter and Instagram and you can also follow all the participants with the hashtag #oleotourjaen
