This is the first time I have needed rent an apartment in Barcelona and the experience has been simply epectacular. Last Friday I arrived at El Prat airport from Dublin. The plan was to pass the weekend in Barcelona and I was looking for accommodation for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Initially I considered staying in a hotel, but after finding the apartments of Happy People Barcelona I left doubts, the decision was made.

Barcelona is a city that I know quite well and I was clear about the needs that I wanted to cover when selecting the place to stay. I'll give you next 4 tips for choosing an apartment in Barcelona:

1. Look at the map

The location of the apartment is very important if you want move around the city comfortably and easily. Barcelona is a fairly large city with many interesting attractions. When it comes to selecting an apartment, it is not just a question of looking for a central or right place next to a certain area of ‚Äč‚Äčinterest. My advice is to look for an apartment that is near a subway station.

On this occasion I was lucky enough to stay in an apartment located right next to the sacred Family and only fifty meters from a subway stop, so I could easily move around the city, although on many occasions I had to go through it underground.

2. What do you need?

Will your stay be long? What is your budget? Do you plan to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in restaurants? Should you attend any event that you should attend dressed in an elegant way? These are all questions you should ask yourself when you start your apartment search. If you need the apartment for a long period it may be a good idea that the apartment has a washing machine. If your budget is limited, you may not be able to go to a restaurant every time you are hungry; On the other hand, if your apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, you can go to the supermarket, fill the fridge and cook when you need it.

During my stay I was amazed to see that the apartment had all the necessary equipment So that my experience was perfect. I found even towels, so it was not necessary to load the bags more than necessary. Coffee maker, cups, iron, kitchen utensils, I missed absolutely nothing.

3. Look at the calendar

Taking advantage of your visit maybe there is an event of interest that you can attend. Or on the contrary, it may be that in the city there is an event that is not of your interest but it is for many other visitors, so the demand for apartments it will be high and consequently the prices of these will be too.
